Applications are invited to fill the following vacant posts in the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Regional/Provincial and Local Quota basis. The details are as follows:

1. Assistant (Ministerial) (BS-15)

  • Number of Posts: 10
  • Quota: Punjab (10), Sindh-R (1), Balochistan (1), GB (1), Merit (2)
  • Eligibility Criteria: Graduate.
  • IT Requirement: 6 weeks IT Training Course (including MS Office) conducted by NITB during probationary period (mandatory).
  • Age Limit: 18-28 years (+5 years relaxation).

2. Meteorological Assistant (BS-14)

  • Number of Posts: 25
  • Quota: Punjab (10), Sindh-R (3), Sindh-U (4), Balochistan (3), KPK (2), GB (1), Merit (2)
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • 2nd Class B.Sc. Degree with one of the following subjects: Meteorology, Environment, Space Science, Agrometeorology, Hydrology, Geophysics, Geology, Geography, Physical Chemistry, Physics, or Electronics.
  • Age Limit: 18-25 years (+5 years relaxation).

3. Data Entry Operator (BS-14)

    • 2nd Class or Grade C Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Statistics/Mathematics/Physics.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Intermediate.

6. Senior Observer (BS-09)

    • F.Sc. 2nd Division (Pre-Engineering/Non-Medical).

    • Matric in Science Group.
    • 3 years experience in repairing Radio/TV.

  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Middle.
    • 2 years experience in a workshop as Fitter/Turner/Blacksmith/Watchmaker/Carpenter/Molder/Painter/Electronic Instruments Repairer.

How to Apply for PMD Jobs

  1. Recruitment will be conducted as per the Recruitment Policy conveyed by the Establishment Division O.M.No.53/1/2008/SP dated 22-10-2014 (as amended).
  2. Age will be calculated from the last date of application submission.
  3. Applicants must apply through the National Job Portal (NJP) at https://njp.gov.pk within 15 days of the advertisement date.
  4. Incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will not be entertained.
  5. Government employees must apply through the proper channel and produce NOC/DPC at the time of the interview.
  6. Applicants must present original documents along with 2 sets of attested copies of domicile, degrees, and certificates issued by HEC/recognized institutions at the time of the interview.
  7. Candidates providing false information will face cancellation of their application and legal action at any stage of recruitment.
  8. PMD reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment process.
  9. No TA/DA will be admissible for tests/interviews.
  10. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for tests and interviews.
